More rain forecast for Karachi, Hyderabad on Thursday and Friday

ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Office reported that another low-pressure monsoon has developed over the northwest of the Bay of Bengal and its adjacent areas and will probably move westward and arrive in Rajasthan (India) on Thursday.

The strong monsoon currents of the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea are likely to enter the north of the country since Tuesday (afternoon / evening) and are expected to intensify as of Wednesday.

It is also likely that a strong western wave will interact with monsoon currents on Wednesday. Under the influence of this weather system:

Widespread rains / windstorms are expected in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Tuesday (afternoon / night) until Saturday.

Scattered falls from very strong to strong are also expected in Hazara, Malakand, Mardan, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, divisions of Lahore, Islamabad and Kashmir on Wednesday and Thursday.

Scattered rains / storms of moderate intensity wind with strong isolated falls are expected in the Mirpurkhas and Thatta divisions, while light / moderate rains are also expected in the Hyderabad and Karachi divisions on Thursday and Friday.

Scattered showers / windstorms are also expected in central / southern Punjab (divisions Sahiwal, Multan, D.G. Khan, Bahawalpur) from Wednesday (afternoon / night) to Friday. While in isolated places in Sukkur, Larkana, Zhob, Kalat, Sibbi, Naseerabad divisions during the period.
